The Story Behind the Candle

There was an old belief among fishermen in Donegal that the sea sometimes gave a warning.

The Merrow of Glen Head is inspired by that belief and tells the story of Michael, a fisherman familiar with the waters around Glen Head, who encounters something mysterious out on the Atlantic.

Drawing on old Irish tales of the merrow — Ireland’s legendary sea folk — the candle brings together Donegal folklore, the fishing traditions of the coast and the wild, unpredictable character of the Atlantic.

A candle created not simply as a fragrance, but as a little piece of Donegal storytelling.
